Location
Clermont County is approximately 30 miles east of Cincinnati in southwest Ohio, near the Kentucky border.
Beginnings
Clermont County was established in 1800 by a proclamation from Arthur St. Clair, the Northwest Territory’s first governor. The name Clermont comes from the French phrase meaning “clear mountain.”
